What is To Exist? Freedom!
“And does not true freedom mean choosing ways in this world
that to the good of all and are guided by love?” – Pope Francis
Reading one of the morning affirmations today, the above
stated quote of Pope Francis got my attention and made me wonder that what
actually freedom is; whether it is Love, Existence, Self-Reliance, or a State
of Mind.
Freedom is acceptance, the ability to embrace mistakes,
choices that turn out good, bad or ugly and not denying fears. Instead of
trying very harsh on making your life perfect, give yourself the freedom to
make it an adventure! Freedom as a word never meant breaking chains; rather it
is the power to choose your own chains. There is no greater freedom than the
freedom to be you. Our minds are powerful thing; we have to fill it with
positive thoughts.
Here is my secret of Happiness and Being a Free Soul: I
DON’T MIND WHAT HAPPENS!
Freedom is nothing else than a chance to be better. I
believe no one outside ourselves can rule us inwardly and we realise this, I
think we become free. While thinking on penning down my article on freedom –
the very first thought I had looked like this - “freedom is that instant
between when someone tells you to do something and when you decide how to
respond”.
I think giving right direction on attainment of freedom is
like giving the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back and reasons to
stay ahead and liberated is the best gift we can give our generations in
return. Love is only freedom from attachment. When you love everything, you are
attached to nothing. Freedom consists not in refusing to recognize anything
above us, but in respecting something which is above us; for by respecting it,
we raise ourselves to it, and, by our very acknowledgment, prove that we bear
within ourselves what is higher, and are worthy to be on a level with it.
I always quote Benjamin Franklin when discussing liberation
and freedom it was “Without freedom of thought, there can be no such thing as
wisdom – and no such thing as public liberty without freedom of speech”. I
think freedom is to find you by thinking of yourself. Doing what you love is
freedom.
It is our greatest responsibility to love ourselves and know
that we are enough. That’s Freedom!
